What's in the news this week?

The population of the blue whale

The population of the blue whale is 10,000 25,000. The life span is 80 - 90 years in the wlid. Their weight can go all the way up to 50,000 – 150,000 kg. The name that they originally had was the Balaenoptera musculus. The length
for females are 25 m and the length for males is 24 m.

They were in the news because they have just finished a 3 year wild water whale project.  When they did this  they spotted 55 of the critically endangered whales off the island of south Georgia in the South Atlantic.  This means their population is growing so that is very good because it would be sad if we lost another creature to extinction.
