last week our class learnt about endangerd white rhinos and how there are only 2 left in the world becouase sadly the male died in 2018 and now there are only 2 females.

for the last to days me and porsha have been woking on of musels mr b went to the super market and brought enough for the whole class. it was really fun at the end off the day mr b cut them open and cooked them i didnt eat them becouase i dont really like them. this is our diagram of the mussel.

What Was In The News This Week?

This is Kylie Jenner.  She was in the news this week because she is not considered to be a billionaire anymore, she is a millionaire instead.  The Forbes Magazine said that she inflated her net worth so people thought she was a billionaire.

I don't think it matters if she is a billionaire or a millionaire because she is still worth a lot of money!

What's in the News This Week?

This is a coronavirus robot dog that enforces social distancing in Singapore park.
The robot dog patrols one of Singapore's parks as part of coronavirus-related trial.
The robot dog is made by US based Boston Dynamics and has a camera to monitor how busy Bishan Ang Moh Kio Park becomes.
It also carries a loudspeaker to broadcast social distancing messages.

I think we should get some in NZ.

Mystery topic

Today in my class we had to work in teams to solve the mstery of our theme for this week.  We had to make some puzzles to get picture clues, unscramble some words that were given to us and then we did a word find. After we done the word find we got given all these maths questions to do.  When we solved each question we got a letter.  At the end the letters spelled out our topic. Our topic that we are going to do is... ancient Egypt.

What's in the news this week?

                           The population of the blue whale

The population of the blue whale is 10,000 25,000. The life span is 80 - 90 years in the wlid. Their weight can go all the way up to 50,000 – 150,000 kg. The name that they originally had was the Balaenoptera musculus. The length for females are 25 m and the length for males is 24 m.  

They were in the news because they have just finished a 3 year wild water whale project.  When they did this  they spotted 55 of the critically endangered whales off the island of south Georgia in the South Atlantic.  This means their population is growing so that is very good because it would be sad if we lost another creature to extinction.

Reading

Today for reading we read a book called Ching ming it is a Poem. here are some photos and questions we thought i was about day of the dead but is was about a man and his dughter saying good bye to their loved ones. it was an good book looks like it had good storys in it.

Today is halloween and we have had a helloween day it has been fun we had 4 atvites and one of the actives we did was a card game it was called hollow woods it was cool her is a story we made.

This term in whanau time we are focusing on tall poppy syndrome. tall poppy syndrome is where some stands tall and does there best but someone goes and cuts them down and make them feel bad about there self.

u13s girls leauge

on Friday the first day of the holidays I didn't go to school because me and some other girls went to Dunedin for a league tournament. it took 9 hours for us to get there as we had a lot of stops on the way it was really fun from Grey Main school there was me Skylah,Indie and Neve. in the house that we stayed in it was me,Skylah,Indie,Neve and Maya. on Saturday we had our first two games we versed south land. They were very tall probably  about the 2x the size of us the first game was a friendly game it was not friendly we versd them again and we won it was cool to win our game.  Came first and we came second and south land came last but they we good players. 

japan kimonos

This term we have been leaning about Japan and today our teacher brought in some kimonos for us to try on. There where boy ones and girls one the first photo is Rowan and he's is in a boy kimono. The second one is with me Nyah, Charlotte, Rykar and Riley. Next we have Jake, Riley and me. Then again we have Jake and Riley .I hope we can learn about this again in the future. The kimonos  were really cool to try on. I hope you can get to try a kimono on some day.
